Double-primed with acrylic gesso, Masterpiece Sausalito Cotton Canvas has a stiff surface texture designed to stand up to aggressive painting techniques, including heavy paint applications and impasto work in oil and acrylic.
The heavyweight 100% cotton Sausalito canvas has an 11.5oz pre-primed weight and a 14oz primed weight. It's back-stapled for a clean, professional look. With folded corners and an uncut selvage, artworks can be easily re-stretched if desired. Staple-free edges are perfect for frameless presentation. Stretcher bars use a superior tongue-and-groove bracing system, eliminating the need for glue, staples, or any other materials that prevent expansion of the entire frame.
Canvas 16" x 20" and larger is cross-braced for additional strength and tension, both in the canvas and on the frame. Corners and braces can be keyed to maintain a precise stretch over time.
