Image of Camera Obscura, Polaroid and Fujifilm Instax Cameras

The concept of photography has been around since the 5th century BCE theorized by studies of the Chinese philosopher Mozi. In the 9th century, an Arab scientist Al-Kindi experimented with a camera obscura, which basically projected upside down images onto another surface where they could be traced to create accurate drawings of real objects. Leornarda da Vinci published the first clear description of a camera obscura and how it works.

Joseph Nicéphore Niépce used a portable camera obscura to expose a pewter place coated with bitumen to light in France during the late 1830s. This is the first recorded image that did not fade quickly, and modern photography and a new art form was born.

Instant images were invented by Polaroid in the 1940's, they went away in 2008...but they're back! It's still difficult to replicate the quality found in a Polaroid, but Fujifilm's Instax comes close. And both type cameras are so much fun!
